I love the distinction between pursuing an outcome and building a system that can keep running. The goal might have defined what you thought was possible, while the system allowed the result to keep unfolding beyond anything you would have chosen in advance.
I've been in this 'weight' conversation for a while myself...love the idea of just turning it over to a system. It's exactly what I've been exploring with regards to life...thinking in terms of process versus outcome. Thanks!
The system reminds me of many operational systems my teams and I have built. We used lead and lag measures to to understand the inputs and outputs for a given outcome. In this scenario we would have understood the corollary effects of caloric input. Caloric expenditure. Ketosis effects on fat burning. Body measurements etc. Things you likely did in your head to build the system. Its a great method. By building habits as a system your outcomes are predictable. Be proactive! Begin with the end in mind! Put first things first!
AI tools certainly made this easier as they became more capable. It was very manual in the beginning. It’s much easier to do now. Consistency is really the goal and the simplicity makes that easier but reducing friction. First principles thinking in a way. I didn’t know to call it that at the time.
